This upgrade project at the Archie Hendricks Skilled Nursing Facility consists of renovations to the main building, green houses and staff housing. The shared public areas will be expanded, which will include the creation of an activity kitchen, hearth area, media/multi-purpose area and a lounge for the dining area. The dining room and server line will receive fi nish upgrades, and the storefront glass separating the two spaces will be removed. A clerestory will be created to dramatically increase natural light levels in the space. Enclosed morning and afternoon porches shall be provided on the east and west sides to facilitate a greater connection with the outdoor environment. Walls separating these porches from the interior shall be full height glazing to further reinforce the outdoor connection and provide additional natural lighting. The main activity room shall be enlarged to accommodate larger groups and provide greater fl exibility. A folding retractable wall will be provided to separate out smaller areas as needed, based on planned activities. A new entry canopy was designed to serve as a focal point into both the skilled nursing facility and the green house quad-plex.
Four twelve bed assisted living residences shall be constructed on site and be supported by both in house staff and the main facility. Each residence shall contain twelve private bedrooms with bathroom as well as common kitchen, dining, living and social areas. Separate covered controlled outdoor areas will be provided for each house. Staff offi ces and other areas will be provided in each unit as well, to serve the residents. Houses will be connected to the main building by way of exterior sidewalks.
Additional staff housing is to be added north and west of current housing. A total of 3 units will be added, including two quadplex’s and one tri-plex. Each unit shall be a two bedroom model for a total of eleven individual units and a total bedroom count of twenty-two.
