Archie Hendricks Senior Skilled Nursing Facility
Federal Route 15, Milepost 9
HC 01 Box 9100
Sells, AZ 85634
A cluster of four 12 bedroom Elder Homes is sited adjacent to the Archie Hendricks Skilled Nursing Facility. Each home is based on the “green house” model and is intended to de-institutionalize long-term care by creating a home-like environment. The houses look and feel like a home with few medical signposts.
Their primary purpose is to serve as a place where elders can receive assistance and support with activities of daily living and some clinical care, without the assistance becoming the focus of their existence. Each elder enjoys a private room with easy access to all areas of the house, including the kitchen, living, and outdoor patios. The elders are free from the institutional schedule and live a comfortable daily life - sleeping, eating and engaging in activities as they choose. Meals are prepared in the open kitchen and served at a large dining table where staff, residents and visitors enjoy pleasant dining and good conversation. The living space is situated around the hearth, with high levels of natural light, views and surrounded by patios.
